PTi to sell Bandera sheet machines in North America

Processing Technologies International (PTi) is to sell Luigi Bandera’s dryer-less sheet technology in North America.

The sheet extrusion systems are used to process PET/PLA without the need for traditional preconditioning dryers and crystallisers. The process relies on Bandera’s patented High Vacuum Twin Screw Extruder technology.

The technology-which de-volatilises and de-moiturises the material during the extrusion process-will be integrated with downstream systems from PTi.

PTi will also provide its TITAN® supervisory control system and UL-approved electrical components for delivery throughout North America.

The companies will install a production-scale demonstration line at PTi headquarters in Aurora, Illinois later this year.

PTi will incorporate Bandera’s HVTSE system into its sheet lines

Although there are more than 80 HVTSE installations in Europe and the rest of the world, the technology is quite new to North America.

“PTi has been investigating options for ‘dryer-less’ technology in response to growing customer interest,” says John Chalmers, PTi’s vice president of sales and marketing. “All of our research pointed to Bandera’s HVTSE system as the most efficient, robust, industry proven solution.”

Although specific details of the agreement are confidential, Bandera’s vice president of sales and marketing, Andrea Rigliano, says: “We have entered into a 10 year exclusive agreement. PTi will promote and incorporate Bandera’s HVTSE technology into its sheet extrusion lines.”

Lines will be manufactured, serviced and supplied by PTi.
