...Italy’s Luigi Bandera, whose High Vacuum Twin Screw Extruder (HVTSE) technology can be used to process PET (and PLA) without pre-drying, will now be more widely available in North America, following a tie-up with Processing Technologies International (PTi).

PTi will distribute Bandera's HVTSE 'dryerless PET' technology  in North America

The technology de-volatilizes and de-moisturizes material during extrusion, and will be integrated with downstream systems from PTi – which will also provide its TITAN® supervisory control system and UL-approved electrical components.

Bandera has installed more than 80 HVTSE installations in Europe and the rest of the world, but the technology is quite new to North America. A production-scale demonstration line will be installed at PTi headquarters in Aurora, Illinois later this year. PTi said it had seen “growing customer interest” for dryer-less technology – and had concluded that Bandera’s system was “the most efficient, robust, industry-proven solution.”

Bandera’s vice president of sales and marketing Andrea Rigliano, says: “PTi will promote and incorporate Bandera’s HVTSE technology into its sheet extrusion lines.”...
