In January 2010, PTi entered a 10 Year Strategic Business Alliance (SBA) with Italian equipment maker Luigi Bandera to offer dryer-less PET/PLA Sheet Extrusion Systems.
Due to their hygroscopic nature, PET and PLA materials require pre-drying prior to being extruded. Historically, that meant processors had to invest in large drying systems that consume not only time, but also high amounts of energy in the form of electricity or natural gas.
