 HighSPEED™ for Co-Extrusion

Single polymer processes may lack the ability to meet overall objectives efficiently, requiring processors to leverage advantages of co-extrusion for desirable sheet qualities— stiffness, heat seal ability, environmental resistances, etc. Additionally, implementing a co-extrusion process allows processors to significantly save on raw material costs. This is accomplished by reducing the amount of expensive colorants/additives via means of concealing mixed regrind colors under opaque colorants.

When configured in an appropriate ABA thickness distribution, co-extrusion can also be utilized to reprocess non-FDA Post Consumer Regrind (PCR) into all FDA and EFSA direct food contact applications, making it an ideal process for food packaging applications.

Those looking to achieve superior sheet qualities in mono-layer extrusion and/or needing an AB or ABA layer co-extrusion process (with a minimal machine footprint), the SUPER-G® HighSPEED™ extruder series is the recommended solution. This months featured system combines the extraordinary power of the SGHS3500 extruder with that of the SGHS3000 model to achieve output rates up to 4000+ pph..
