Technical Sales Engineer

 

Description

PTi is looking to fill an immediate opening for an experienced salesperson to initiate contact with clients and create build-to-spec technical proposals to meet customer’s needs. The technical/field sales engineer responsibilities include contacting and/or traveling assigned territories to directly meet with potential and current customers to discuss their requirements, provide product and service demonstrations, negotiate sales contracts, and inform them of new product developments.

 

Responsibilities

Manage sales activities of assigned accounts by performing the following duties personally or through other members of the PTi team:

  • Update and maintian CRM database calendar and account information daily.
  • Meet with assigned clients maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Participate in sales forecasting activities.
  • Document Account analyses to determine customer needs.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Communicate and assist effectively within the organization to prepare information for clients.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and proposed client base expansion.
  • Support product research and development.
  • Report on competition activities and products in the industry.
  • Travel when needed to meet Customer and Company's needs.

This position reports to the VP-Sales.

 

Requirements

Successful candidate must possess:

  • Degree (BA/BS), in relevant related field, MBA will be considered favorably.
  • Minimum 10 years experience.
  • Plastics Industry experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the plastics processing market, potential customer base and existing market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in the following: Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), CRM Software (ACT! used currently).
  • Strong understanding of plastic processing market, potential customer base and existing market dynamics.
  • Travel Required - 30-50%.
